Using MobileRSS With Google’s New 2-Step Authentication

Google recently introduced an update to its password security system, called 2-Step Authentication. If you enable this feature, it means you won’t be able to use your original Google password to login to MobileRSS. Here’s what’s required if you’re interested in using this feature or are having difficulties.

Step 1: Create an Application-Specific Password for MobileRSS

Google will automatically recommend that you create passwords for applications which use your Google account, like MobileRSS.

Step 2: Enter the New Password Into MobileRSS

You’ll be shown your new password on screen (which will be long and difficult to crack) and should enter this password into MobileRSS. Enter it once and MobileRSS will remember it so you won’t have to enter it again.

Step 3: Enjoy Reading RSS Feeds
